Maps

From Getaway Shootout Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

There are 7 maps in Getaway Shootout, of which 4 were in the original version of the game: While the developer originally did not provide names for all maps, the community has came up with its own ones, which are listed here. These maps are listed in the order that they are played in-game (the first map is random and they loop, so this list just starts on an arbitrary map). A bold name indicates the official name and an italicised indicates the speedrun.com name, if there are any. Other names are just stated in no formatting.

  • Town, Market or Zipline
  • Street or Bus
  • Train
  • Tower, Office, Building or Elevator
  • Terminal or Airport
  • Plane or Parachute
  • Launch Pad

Town

Goal

"Get to the... Truck!!!"

Map players

Chef and Truck Driver

Special features

There are boxes with physics next to the "Market" sign and on top of the dumpster. At the end, there is a zipline that players can slide down in order to enter the truck. They are unable to use weapons or items while on the zipline, though a shield activated beforehand stays active. Players without a shield can still be killed while on the zipline. The dumpster is animated with black particles and there is a fan next to it that is also animated. Neither have any effect on gameplay.

Street

Goal

"Get to the... Train!!!"

Map players

Truck driver and Bus Driver

Special features

The taxi and hot dog truck have some physics, deforming a little in response to players landing on top of them. The cushions of the blue seats in the bus are bouncy and can help a character jump higher. There are open sewer entrances with particles rising up out of them. Falling into one results in death.

Train

Goal

"Get to the... Choppa!!!"

Map players present

None

Special features

The Train is always moving and players who land on the tracks die and get run over by the train, but the train being in motion does not affect gameplay.

Tower

Goal

"Get to the... Choppa!!!"

Map players present

Janitor Dan and Window Cleaners

Special features

The elevators of the Tower cycle approximately once every 14 seconds. They spawn in different positions in both single player and two player, but always spawn in the same position for Time Trial. On the third floor, there are a few papers on the table. If touched, these papers scatter. They have no hitbox and no effect on gameplay. Characters can be killed if crushed by the elevators or by falling into the second elevator shaft.

Terminal

Goal

"Get to the.. Plane!!!"

Map players present

Chauffeur, Hot Dog Bob, Hot Dog Worker, Panini Pete, and Panini worker

Special features

The security scanner on Terminal takes away a player's weapon or item. There are two entrances to the plane, and two different paths that lead to the end. The screen with plane times changes which airlines are shown (the airline names either start with the word “Air” and then have a name, or have a name and then end with the word “Airlines” or "Airways". The names are CurryPap, Dima14, Bob, Alonso, Vincent, General, and Niro), their gates, and status (Closed, Delayed, On time, Boarding, and Run!!!). This is the biggest map currently in the game.

Plane

Goal

"Get to the Parachute!!!" (players will still have to jump out of the plane after getting a parachute)

Map players present

Flight Attendant, Parachuter, and Pilot

Special Features

To win Plane, a character must first obtain a parachute by crossing a checkpoint before then jumping out of the plane to win. They can jump up or down, but it’s not possible to jump high, because the player is extremely heavy when carrying the parachute. Below are images of the parachute box and a player with a parachute. The Plane map also has an animated snake in a box, which is probably another Indiana Jones reference to a scene where he finds a snake in his plane. The blue cart that the Flight Attendant swings around will kill players hit by it. This cart has the face of the General on it, as does the tail of the plane.

Launch Pad

Goal

"Get to the Rocket!!!"

Map players present

Astronomer, Camper, and Rocket Engineer

Path

To win Launch Pad, a character must first get over the car and crates before later continuing rightwards to the top of the truck. There the character must perform precise parkour in order to get up on to the first zipline at the top. After that, they must take a big jump to the left to get onto the support tower, where they will then grab a long zipline that pulls them upwards. There, they head rightwards, performing even more tough parkour and then jumping up to the last zipline, which will take them to a broken hallway that leads them to the rocket.
